UNDERCOVER SS2003 "SCAB" MODULAR BACKPACK

SS2003 “SCAB” marked a turning point in Jun Takahashi’s career. Debuting in Paris, this show was undoubtedly his most important, and in my opinion, his best.

In SCAB many similarities can be seen with crust punk counterculture, some of which are expressed in this flannel. As seen above the pocket, Takashi referenced the same stitching used on patches sewn on crust punk jeans. These visual cues which are present throughout the whole collection, can be traced back to Jun’s love for hardcore punk culture.
